Corradino President and Pinecrest Mayor Joe Corradino was recently honored for his outstanding service to the community by the Miami-Dade League of Cities! Joe is this year's recipient of the prestigious Zev Auerbach Community Service Award for his service to the MDLC and surrounding communities during the Covid-19 pandemic. Joe's role was to communicate daily with the County Mayor, and he spearheaded the huge undertaking of creating and submitting a detailed weekly report of all hospitalizations, deaths, precautions and pending policies. In 2020, the League had over 315 meetings as opposed to their usual 20 in a normal calendar year. As president of MDLC, Joe led the negotiations with Miami-Dade County to address the Rapid Transit Zone Ordinance. It took about a year, but resulted in a solid victory for the cities not allowing the county to preempt their local authority.
