I-95 Expansion Corridor

Project Description

From August 2011 to September 2015, one of our Corradino Public Information Officers (PIO) handled all public outreach for the I-95 Expansion Corridor in the Treasure Coast of Florida. This $150-million corridor consisted of three adjoining projects that spanned a total of 19.5 miles, from northern Saint Lucie County to Indian River County. Work included widening I-95 in each direction, milling and resurfacing the existing lanes, bridge replacement, ramp reconstruction, sound wall installation and improvements to landscaping, signalization and lighting. The PIO was heavily involved in community for these projects, providing updates on the various stages of construction and presenting at community and county meetings as needed. Ongoing communication occurred with surrounding communities & businesses, emergency services, local counties & municipalities, and elected officials to minimize the impact of construction and address any construction-related inquiries or concerns. Our PIO received an “Outstanding Service Award” from the FDOT District 4 Traffic Incident Management Team, as a result of her efforts on this corridor.
