Project Description

The Indianapolis Department of Public Works (DPW) selected The Corradino Group to provide surveying and design services to resurface and add pedestrian facilities to Georgetown Road on the city's Northwest side. Georgetown Road has a high volume of pedestrian traffic with very few safe walking areas. Two pedestrian fatalities have occurred within the last two years. It is a daily event to see pedestrians of all ages walking within a few feet of the edge of Georgetown Road. One of the challenges of the project was to design a pedestrian facility that the public will use. Corradino provided public outreach along the corridor to amplify the awareness of the facility.
