I-95 Express Lanes Section 3C

Project Description

Corradino provides Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) services for the $475 million 95 Express Phase 3 project in Broward County, Florida. This project incorporates I-95 from Hollywood Boulevard in the City of Hollywood to Broward Boulevard in the City of Fort Lauderdale, as well as east-west limits on I-595 from SR 7 to I-95. Express Lanes provide a safe, efficient, and reliable long-range commute and, despite increased traffic volumes, have been proven to increase travel speeds by 200 percent on the local lanes and by 300 percent on the Express lanes in both directions.

The video provided here is of Section 3C, the largest project segment with the most-involved scope of work of all five 95 Express Phase 3 projects; it will provide several key connections for the South Florida Regional Express Lanes Network. Once this segment is completed, commuters will have a fully functioning I-95 Managed Lanes facility connecting Miami-Dade County to southern Palm Beach County, as well as improved local access to and from I-595 plus improved traffic flow between the Florida Turnpike and I-595. The project also includes 18 bridges that are being built or widened. Another key feature of 95 Express Phase/Segment 3C is enhanced safety and service at the SR 7/Turnpike westbound ramps. These movements are being separated to correct existing geometric deficiencies, eliminate weaving movements and improve operational performance. Construction on this project began in 2019 and is anticipated to be completed early in 2025.
