FDOT Broward Construction-Public Information Officer

Project Description

Corradino was awarded the Public Information contract with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District 4 - Broward Operations Center to provide two full-time Public Information Officers (PIOs) for all construction projects funded by FDOT in Broward County. The PIOs are responsible for informing the public about upcoming construction projects within their areas. This is done through flyers, email blasts, phone calls, door-to-door outreach and the planning/execution of public meetings. The PIOs manage public outreach for approximately 30 projects, which includes addressing and logging inquiries from the media and the public at-large. They coordinate directly with the individual construction project managers on current issues, upcoming lane closures, press releases and notifications needed for each project.

As part of the ongoing outreach efforts throughout the lifespan of projects, the PIOs distribute a weekly press release to the media with information about upcoming lane closures and attend a variety of meetings with the community and partnering agencies to provide construction updates. In addition to the role of PIO, Corradino also provides website maintenance support and graphic design services throughout the duration of this contract.
